Connect by InHouse Core Is Live (and It Started With My Friend Saying "I Want This Just for me”.

Update from Our Founder

Today is the day. Connect by InHouse Core is officially live, and I'm writing this with a very full heart, and (let's be honest) not nearly enough sleep.

To mark this special day, I’d like to tell you a little bit about where it came from.

Where it started

I spent about ten years in law firms as an immigration paralegal, and six years in-house at a Fortune 500 company working in business immigration. During that time, I watched the same thing happen over and over: Information about one person's status lived in Slack or Teams, SharePoint, email, Workday, law firm portals, and way too many spreadsheets. Every law firm I worked at had phenomenal lawyers and staff that worked hard to stay on top of things, and in-house, that was the case too… but that didn’t translate into employees that felt informed, or at ease, when it came to their own immigration status -their ability to continue to do their jobs, or to stay where they had built a home and community. The status is theirs, but they do not have the insight into it that they need to feel safe.

I’m systems minded by nature, so I did what I do. I started trying to design something that would ease that pain… My first idea was an enterprise platform, a tool for the companies managing all of this for their foreign national employees. I built wireframes in Figma and mockups in Lovable, all while completing my MBA, and momming my two amazing kids (sleep is overrated, right?). I was really proud of it, and excited about it.

Then my friend said the thing

I wanted to see if I was onto something that might be usefull, so I showed the mockups to a friend who is on an H-1B. His response changed the trajectory of my life… or at least my year. He paused for a moment and said β€œPaige, I love this, but honestly, I want this just for me. Everything is owned by our schools, or employers or law firms… nothing is ours.”

That kind of took my breath away…

Because he was right. When you're in the U.S. on an employment based status, so much of your life is held by other people. Your employer files, your lawyer prepares, your school keeps its own records. If the job changes, the portal you relied on can just... close. Your documents, your dates, your family's timeline, all of it living in somebody else's records.

That conversation drove me to build Connect.

Don’t worry, the enterprise version is still coming, and it will be even better because Connect exists!

What is Connect?

Connect is one source of truth for your family's immigration documents and deadlines, and it is yours. Not your school’s, not your employer’s, not your lawyer’s.

Here's what it does right now (so many more features to come!):

  • Keeps documents and deadlines in one place, for you and your household. The family plan covers up to four people: you plus three.

  • Explains policy updates in easy-to-understand language, so you aren't decoding legalese at midnight.

  • Connects you to a trusted attorney network if/when you need real legal help.

  • Tracks the Visa Bulletin against your priority date to tell you where you stand.

  • Shows your green card timeline, based on your priority date.

It's a web app right now, so there's nothing to download. Just head to connect.inhousecore.com. It will be in iOS and other app stores soon.

Who I built it for

I built this for the H-1B professional with an H-4 spouse and a couple of kids, years into the green card backlog, who is quietly carrying everyone's dates in their head. The visa expirations and appointments. The H-1B approval notices. The I-94s. The H-4 EAD renewal. The kids' passports. The emails that take HR or attorneys days to respond to because they are overwhelmed too. The headlines that keep you awake scrolling reddit, just getting more stressed.

You shouldn't have to carry all of that alone, and you shouldn't lose that support if your job changes. Your status is your family's timeline, not your employer's.

The First 20

Here’s a fun perk: Use code First20 at checkout for 10% off your first year on an annual plan, and a free consultation with a Green and Spiegel Immigration Attorney.

  • Single annual: $95.88, or $86.29 with the code

  • Family annual (up to 4 people): $143.88, or $129.49 with the code

The code works on annual plans only, can be used by the first 20 people, and expires November 17, 2026 at 11:59 PM Eastern.

If the spots run out, there is still a code for a discount available!

Thank you

To my beta testers, my advisors, my family, and the friend who told me what he actually needed: thank you. Clarity is kindness, and this is my best attempt at both.

If you try it, I'd love to hear what you think. Reach out anytime at info@inhousecore.com.
